Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how NEXT MARKETING TECHNOLOGY LTD(“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information in connection with the website MyPreferredSources at mypreferredsources.com(the “Site”). We have written it to be plain and honest, because the Site collects strikingly little data by design.
Privacy at a glance
- The button generator runs entirely in your browser. The website address you type is processed on your own device to build your button. It is never sent to, logged by, or stored on our servers.
- No accounts, no database. There is no sign-up, login, or user profile. We never ask you for your name, email address, or any other personal detail in order to use the tool.
- No tracking or advertising cookies. The Site sets no cookies for tracking, profiling, or advertising.
- Cookieless, anonymous analytics. We measure aggregate traffic with a privacy-friendly analytics service that does not use cookies and does not identify you.

The tool runs in your browser
MyPreferredSources is a free, client-side button generator. When you enter your website address and choose a style, the parsing, validation, and HTML generation all happen locally in your browser using JavaScript we serve to you. The domain you enter, the options you select, and the button code you copy are produced on your device. We do not receive, process, log, or retain any of it.
One detail in the interest of full transparency: when you preview the custom(co-branded) button, your browser loads your site’s favicon (its small icon) from Google’s public favicon service. To fetch that icon, the domain you entered is included in the request your browser makes to Google. That request goes from your browser directly to Google and is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy; we are not a party to it and do not see it.
Information collected automatically
Although the tool itself collects nothing, two infrastructure providers process limited information so the Site can be delivered and so we can understand aggregate usage.
Hosting (Vercel)
The Site is hosted by Vercel Inc. As with essentially every website, Vercel’s servers automatically process limited technical information needed to serve pages and keep the service secure and reliable — for example your IP address, the time of the request, the pages or files requested, and your browser and operating-system type, recorded in standard server logs. Vercel processes this on our behalf as our hosting provider. See Vercel’s Privacy Policy.
Analytics (TinyAnalytics)
We use TinyAnalytics (tinyanalytics.io), a privacy-focused, cookieless web-analytics service, to understand how the Site is used in aggregate — for example total page views, which pages are popular, the country a visit comes from, the type of device, and the referring site. TinyAnalytics does not set cookies, does not track you across other websites, and does not collect personally identifiable information. We see only anonymous, aggregated statistics. See TinyAnalytics’ Privacy Policy.
Cookies
The Site does not use cookies for tracking, analytics, advertising, or profiling. Because there are no accounts, we also set no login or session cookies. We do not display a cookie consent banner because there are no non-essential cookies to consent to.
Lawful basis for processing
Where we process the limited technical information described above (server logs and anonymous analytics), we rely on our legitimate interests(UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) in operating, securing, and improving a free public tool, in a way that is proportionate and that does not override your rights — which is why we deliberately avoid cookies and personal profiling.
How long we keep data
We keep no personal data of our own, because the tool collects none. Hosting server logs are retained by our provider for a limited period for security and operational purposes and then deleted or aggregated. Analytics data is anonymous and aggregated and is not tied to any individual.
Sharing and third parties
We do not sell, rent, or trade information about you, and we do not share it for advertising. The only third parties involved are the infrastructure providers that make the Site work:
- Vercel Inc.— website hosting and delivery.
- TinyAnalytics— cookieless, aggregate analytics.
- Google— when you preview a custom button, your browser fetches your site’s favicon from Google’s public favicon service; and the buttons you generate link to Google’s own source-preferences tool, which your readers reach directly when they click.
We may also disclose information if required to do so by law or by a valid request from a public authority.
International transfers
Some of our providers are based outside the United Kingdom (for example in the United States). Where limited technical information is processed outside the UK, those providers are expected to maintain appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision) as required by UK data-protection law.
Your rights
Under UK data-protection law you have rights over your personal data, including the rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and portability. Because we do not maintain accounts or personal records, in most cases we will hold no personal data about you to act on — but you are welcome to contact us at hello@mypreferredsources.com and we will respond.
Children
The Site is a tool for website owners and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected here.
Contact and complaints
For any privacy question, contact us at hello@mypreferredsources.com. If you are in the UK and believe we have not handled your data properly, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
